Unai provide Data Science and Software Engineering specialising in management and validation of clinical data, most recently working with Genomics England to address clinical data processing challenges in the 100,000 Genomes Project and Genomics Medicine Service.

The GA4GH was formed in 2013, bringing together over 600 leading organisations working in healthcare, research, patient advocacy, life science, and information technology. The GA4GH community is working together to create frameworks and standards to enable the responsible, voluntary, and secure sharing of genomic and health-related data. Companies joining the GA4GH agree to abide by its mission and embrace the founding principles defined in the GA4GH constitution.

GA4GH’s mission is to accelerate progress in genomic research and human health by cultivating a common framework of standards and harmonized approaches for effective and responsible genomic and health-related data sharing.

Speaking of joining the alliance Unai CEO, James Baldwin, commented:

“The approach GA4GH brings to interdisciplinary collaboration and global ethical and security standards has been key to many of the leaps made in the genomics industry in recent years.  The alliance’s mission of ‘accelerating progress’ echos our own, and joining is a natural step in our work to advance and standardise practices for phenotypic and genomic data integration.”
