Elucidata Limited announces rebrand and new name, Unai

12th November 2019

Data Science led technology consultancy, Elucidata Ltd, has announced that it has relaunched under the new name, Unai (pronounced Ooh-nye). The company was established in 2010 when a team of software engineers and analytics experts joined forces to provide consultancy to organisations with various data-related challenges. The team has worked on a wide range of projects, from pricing optimisation for ticketing providers to supporting historic heritage sites. Most recently, it has been working on projects overcoming the complex challenges of enabling genomic testing to be delivered at large scale in clinical settings.

Speaking of the rebrand, James Baldwin, Unai’s CEO, commented:

“We’ve been under most people’s radar for nearly a decade but after two breakthrough years of growth and transformation we’re ready to formally introduce ourselves to the broader market.

“Unai is an evolution of the company. The name literally translates as ‘shepherd’ in some parts of the world, which isn’t an obvious association for a technology company. However, we associate with the role of steward of an incredibly precious resource – our clients’ data – and our primary concern is to protect that data and handle it ethically and with professionalism.”

Elaborating on Unai’s recent transformation, Mr Baldwin added:

“It’s particularly fitting to make such visible changes leading into 2020 as we are also changing focus from the eclectic work of our past to an ongoing mission of helping improve health, the environment and society. Unai’s team has been incredibly motivated by our recent work at the forefront of making genomics medicine a reality for patients across the country, and we look forward to working alongside many other experts at organisations with a social mission over the years ahead”

The company launched the rename at a celebration event on 12th November 2019, at its Bristol headquarters.
